KIC International Forum 2019: Evidence-based Criminal Justice Policy for Public Safety

On December 6, 2019, the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC), hosted the annual KIC International Forum at the Le Meridien Seoul. The International Forum was held to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Institute. This year’s theme is Evidence-based Criminal Justice Policy for Public Safety.

KIC’s President, Han, In-Sup, delivered the opening remarks. The Keynote addresses were given by Robert J. Sampson(Henry Ford Professor of the Social Sciences, Harvard University), John Paul Wright(Professor of Criminal Justice, University of Cincinnati).

During the forum, four sessions were held: Evidence-based Criminology for Community Value Orientation; Evidence-based Policing with the Public and by the Public Consent; Improving Successful Reentry through the Use of Evidence-based Correction; Evidence-based Forensic Psychology in Investigation and Trial.
